FOH - manager

full-TIME | $14.00 - $16.00/hour

The FOH - Manager is a vital part of our team here at The Rustic Rooster Inc., this role is responsible for organizing our daily operations and motivating our FOH staff to provide excellent customer service and ensuring FOH and BOH staff work together as a team. This person is team focused, detail oriented and a people person. The FOH - Manager is in charge of monitoring daily expenses and revenues, as wells as ordering supplies and mainting proper inventory. To be successful in this role, the FOH - Manager must have experience working within a manager or supervisory role in the restaurant/hospitality industry. The FOH - Manager’s key roles are to help increase profitability, boost customer engagement and ensure our Cafe continues to be a favourite spot among the locals and passers by.


JOB DUTIES

  • Managing day-to-day operations of our Cafe/FOH

  • Hiring and on boarding new FOH staff

  • Training FOH staff on drink preparation and proper use of coffee equipment

  • Coordinate with vendors/suppliers and order supplies, as needed (i.e. takeaway cups, coffee, milk, etc.)

  • Inventory management & tracking

  • Menu management, adding new menu items based on seasonality and customers’ preferences

  • Ensure customer complaints are taken care of in a professional manner using our customer recovery techniques

  • Maintain a clean and tidy work environment, including all cafe areas

  • Ensure FOH staff stay on track and follow our daily checklists and cleaning guides

  • Ensure our service and product standards are met by following our product make guides

  • Nurture friendly relationships with customers to increase loyalty and boost our reputation

  • Collaborate with the BOH on menu changes

  • POS management

  • Light accounting/bookkeeping duties, payroll and scheduling

  • Daily reporting and POS cash out/deposit


JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a management/supervisory role within the restaurant/hospitality industry

  • Barista/hands on experience with professional coffee machines an asset

  • Good math skills

  • Ability to multitask and handle working under pressure.

  • Self motivated and detail oriented

  • Flexible availability, with a minimum of 5 days a week.

  • Availability to work within opening hours (including weekends) as well as after operating hours for special events

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team

  • Customer service attitude

  • High school diploma

  • Additional certification (i.e. Buisness Administration or Hospitality, etc.) is an asset

  • Payroll, scheduling and accounting/bookkeeping experience an asset

  • Social Media advertising/marketing experience an asset

  • Experience hiring and on boarding new employees an asset

  • Comfortable with employee discipline

  • Cash handling experience an asset

  • Team focused attitude with the ability to bring fresh ideas into our day-to-day operations, as well as the ability to think outside the box
